Evaluation and improvement of the braking test in toys
Current European regulations on toy safety demands a series of requirements for braking systems on toys that support the weight of the child. The requirements mandate that these toys include braking devices, where it is not demonstrated that they can be used effectively in practice by children of the ages at which they are aimed. [...]

R&D in development of new materials and process of additive manufacturing: application to moulds for short series of injection.
Currently, the manufacture of basic plastic pieces by injection process is made with metallic moulds, where the fabrication of those metallic mould is realised via subtraction process, this means, we start with a metal piece from which we eliminate the metal, creating the cavity shaped according to the final piece. Among the conventional process used for the mould manufacture we found the machining or the electro erosion. [...] View more

HAVISA. Research and Development of a gamificated TIC platform and guides for the development of new products in food, sport, health and toys sector, which promote healthy lifestyle.
The improvement of socioeconomic conditions in the majority of the European states had contributed to the growth of the population life expectancy and to a rising awareness on the importance of maintain healthy lifestyle, to preserve a health level adequate to the lifelong. The society presents a preoccupation, increasingly accentuated, of possible relationships between alimentation and health and increasingly more aware of the benefits provided by the usual practice of a sport activity. EUROHANDFEET. Research of the anthropometric characteristics of the European child population to support the security, ergonomy and motor skills of products for children.
As the safe and ergonomic creation of child products is concerned, companies declare disposing of anthropometric characteristics representative of the target population. They also specify disposing of criterias that transform those characteristics in design parameters that ensure the production of ergonomic child products, which are safe and who answer the interaction between child fine motor and objects. CHILDBIOPACK. Development microwavable package, from environmentally friendly materials, based on nutritional prepared meals adapt to child growth (3-14 years)
The current project has for main objective to develop a line of microwave trays that contains menus nutritionally adapted to child consumption (3-14 year). Notably, developed packages will optimise the warming in microwaves in terms of temperature uniformity and will be composed by raw materials more environmentally friendly. Furthermore, foodstuffs will be chosen according to their intrinsic properties which affect the warming in microwaves. Lastly, menus will be prepared according to nutritional and sociocultural criterias by focusing on the use of local food which stimulate the Mediterranean alimentation. [...] View more

Intelligent automation – ROBINT
The main objective of this project is the development of the sensor technology and the necessary tools, which allow elaborating man-machine collaborative work environments, based on an artificial vision system, laser triangulation system and/or photoelectric barrier, to integrate it in manual processes. Furthermore, developed systems will allow obtaining information that allows the adequate automation and robotization of various operations in the manufacturing of shoes and superficial finition process for manufacturing of toys which are actually not viable or difficult automation. Actually, we pretend to implement a pilot plant associated to the shoes sector to realize shoes soles deburring tasks for rubber boots, and other pilot plant associated to the toys sector for plastic pieces deburring. [...]
