In recent years, audiovisual technologies in the field of Virtual Reality have reached a significant level of maturity thanks to the reduction in hardware costs and the technological evolution there has been at the graphic representation level. This has led to a proliferation of a wide variety of VR helmets (head mounted displays) such as those from such manufacturers as: Oculus, Samsung, Sony or HTC, driven directly by the video game industry.

These visualisation technologies allow products to be displayed in real size (on a scale of 1:1), and you can interact with them; as a result, these features make applying VR a very interesting prospect.

The main advantage of this approach is that it allows companies to obtain a quick feedback, resulting in shorter iterations of product design and eliminating errors before the manufacturing processes get under way.

Project results:

Applicability of virtual reality in production environments to improve the competitiveness of companies.

Standardisation of the use of immersive technology in the sector.

Transfer to the industry of technology as a marketing tool.

Programme: A line from the Regional Government of Valencia (GVA) to strengthen the capacity and activity of AIJU to develop excellence in R&D, disseminate the results of the research carried out and facilitate and promote the transfer of knowledge to companies in the Valencian Community.
