MULTIPASS drives the Digital Product Passport (DPP) for Valencian industry
AIJU is promoting a cross-sector platform designed to facilitate traceability, sustainability and regulatory compliance through Digital Product Passports adapted to different industrial value chains.
MULTIPASS is a project focused on developing a modular, cross-sector Digital Product Passport (DPP) platform that will enable companies to address new European regulatory requirements related to sustainability, traceability and the circular economy. The initiative includes validating the technology across different industrial sectors, including the toy industry, where AIJU plays a key role in adapting and validating the specific requirements of the sector.
The challenge: meeting new traceability and sustainability requirements
Digital transformation and the transition towards a circular economy are driving new regulatory requirements across Europe. One of the most significant developments is the progressive implementation of the Digital Product Passport (DPP), a tool designed to collect, manage and share relevant product information throughout its entire life cycle.
However, the diversity of supply chains, materials, manufacturing processes and sector-specific needs makes it difficult to adopt standardised solutions. Many companies require tools that enable them to manage information efficiently, ensure data interoperability and comply with future regulatory requirements without increasing operational complexity.
Main objective: developing a modular and scalable Digital Product Passport platform
The main objective of MULTIPASS is to develop an advanced digital platform capable of generating and managing Digital Product Passports adapted to multiple industrial sectors.
The initiative, led by AIJU together with AIDIMME, ITI, AIMPLAS, AINIA, AITEX, INESCOP and ITE, is based on a modular approach that enables different sources of information to be integrated while ensuring interoperability between systems. This will facilitate reliable access to data related to product sustainability, safety, material composition, manufacturing, use and end-of-life.
Specific objectives
The main objectives of MULTIPASS include:
- Designing a modular and scalable technological architecture for managing Digital Product Passports.
- Ensuring data interoperability between different sectors and stakeholders throughout the value chain.
- Facilitating compliance with new European regulatory frameworks related to sustainability and the circular economy.
- Improving the traceability of products and materials throughout their entire life cycle.
- Validating the solution in real-world environments through pilot cases across different industrial sectors.
- Promoting industrial digitalisation through advanced technologies for information management and data-driven decision-making.
A collaborative ecosystem to accelerate digital transformation
MULTIPASS will help accelerate the adoption of the Digital Product Passport in Europe through a flexible and interoperable platform designed around the real needs of industry. The initiative will enhance transparency across value chains, promote the circular economy and facilitate the transition towards more sustainable, digital and competitive production models.
The project brings together specialised organisations that contribute complementary expertise in areas such as digitalisation, sustainability, data management and industrial validation.
Collaboration between technology centres, companies and innovation stakeholders will enable the development of a robust solution capable of addressing the needs of different industrial sectors and contributing to the effective implementation of future European requirements related to the Digital Product Passport.
