“The toy sector in the European Union is characterised by strong specific legislation (toy safety directive 88/378/EEC) as well as complementary legislation depending on the type of product (REACH, RoHS, cosmetics, materials in contact with foods, etc.). This legislation compels manufacturers to only put safe products on the market, especially when it comes to children’s products, because children are not conscious of the risks derived from the use of the product and are exposed to products involuntarily. The main objective of the project is to offer innovation services to the companies of the toy industry of Valencia, particularly in activities of technology assistance and consultancy on the use of the standards and adaptation of their products to the new safety requirements. Project participants include 19 companies of the sector. Project framed in action 3.1 “Provision of innovation services” of the IMPIVA 2nd Competitiveness Plan for Companies of Valencia (PCEV). “Project co-financed with ERDF funds, within the ERDF Operational Programme of the Valencia Regional Government 2007-2013”.
