This project arises from the need to continue investigating in the field of DMFC in order to make a product that is competitive in the current marketplace. Based on the latest prototype developed by both centres in the previous joint research project (PILMEAPLIC), it is hoped in this project to obtain an energy generator with more useful power (> 20 W) including significant improvements in the membranes and in the design of the stack, so that costs can be reduced, power increased and the result is environmentally sustainable.

For this project, new polymeric membranes will be developed, optimised for DMFC and their response and performance will be evaluated in the DMFC fuel cell test bank.
