“A part of the Plan for Competitiveness of Valencian companies, with Report No. IMPCDB/2011/20, a technical study on tools for the design and manufacture of prototypes that are involved in product development in various SMEs so that product viability can be assessed and optimised before manufacture is being undertaken. In the sphere of new article product development, there are many rapid design and manufacture techniques that enable improvement, speeding up and optimising their development process. The aim of this project is to study tools for design and manufacture of prototypes that are involved in product development in various SMEs so that product viability can be assessed and optimised before manufacture is being undertaken. Also, AIJU makes available to companies the use of CAD, CAM, CAE and audiovisual tools based on new technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality or animation, various novel rapid manufacturing technologies and 3D CAD design tools for the development of these new products, giving greater competitive power. Rapid Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Tooling technologies have led to a breakthrough in the development of new products manufactured in plastic or metal.
