“Directive 2009/48/EC on Toy Safety establishes important changes with respect to the earlier Directive 88/378/EEC, still in force, mainly changes related to the use of chemical substances. Toys are safe when, considering normal children’s behaviour, they do not endanger safety and health of their users or of third parties when used in a foreseeable or normally intended way. Products for children must comply with the regulation and effectively inform users on aspects of use and risk situations in inappropriate or dangerous use. The overall aim of the project is to provide technological support to toy companies in the Region of Valencia in the process of adapting their products to the complex European and international standards and legislative panorama. Project participants include 20 companies of the sector. Project framed in action 3.1 “Provision of innovation services” of the IMPIVA 2nd Competitiveness Plan for Companies of Valencia (PCEV). “Project co-financed with ERDF funds, within the ERDF Operational Programme of the Valencia Regional Government 2007-2013”.
