R&D in development of new materials and process of additive manufacturing: application to moulds for short series of injection.

Currently, the manufacture of basic plastic pieces by injection process is made with metallic moulds, where the fabrication of those metallic mould is realised via subtraction process, this means, we start with a metal piece from which we eliminate the metal, creating the cavity shaped according to the final piece. Among the conventional process used for the mould manufacture we found the machining or the electro erosion. [...]

EUROHANDFEET. Research of the anthropometric characteristics of the European child population to support the security, ergonomy and motor skills of products for children.

As the safe and ergonomic creation of child products is concerned, companies declare disposing of anthropometric characteristics representative of the target population. They also specify disposing of criterias that transform those characteristics in design parameters that ensure the production of ergonomic child products, which are safe and who answer the interaction between child fine motor and objects. [...]

Intelligent automation – ROBINT

The main objective of this project is the development of the sensor technology and the necessary tools, which allow elaborating man-machine collaborative work environments, based on an artificial vision system, laser triangulation system and/or photoelectric barrier, to integrate it in manual processes. Furthermore, developed systems will allow obtaining information that allows the adequate automation and robotization of various operations in the manufacturing of shoes and superficial finition process for manufacturing of toys which are actually not viable or difficult automation. Actually, we pretend to implement a pilot plant associated to the shoes sector to realize shoes soles deburring tasks for rubber boots, and other pilot plant associated to the toys sector for plastic pieces deburring.
